• Long nap carpet...set it high; too short creates fuzzed threads
• Large loop carpet...turn off the beater bar

• Remove as quickly as possible
• Use water and detergent sparingly
• If solvent is required use Carpet and Rug Institute of America Approved
• If all else fails use 3% hydrogen peroxide and let stand for 1hr. Repeat

• Put mats at doorways to trap dirt
• Vacuum regularly: preferably daily
• Consider professional cleaning every 12 to 18 months
• Professional clean with hot water extraction (steam cleaning)
• Clip sprouts and snags with scissors
• Remove furniture dents by rubbing with a coin edge and heating with hair dryer
